Abstract
World countries are seriously interested in how to increase energy resources and how to rationalize the various practices of people consumption. Residential buildings consume the major share of the world energy. Literary studies have a main gap about the need of interdisciplinary research that can help practically in the problem solving of energy crises (e.g. engineering and marketing). So, this study aims to investigate the impact of the perception about green building on the intention and behavior toward switching to sustainable energy practices. Furthermore, the objective of exploring the best ways to rationalize the consumption of environment resources. The paper belongs to qualitative and quantitative studies. Furthermore, it is online questionnaire based, as a research instrument. 1589 participations shared in filling of the e-questionnaire. The validity and reliability were tested by various statistical measures through SPSS-v20 and AMOS-v18 to confirm the instrument validity and the reported results. The study includes a contemporary global scope of literature and economic statistics to be a strong reference for practitioners and researchers in the field of sustainability and energy saving. Two main contributions are presented by answering the following questions through the current study: first, to what extent the green building image impact on the intention and behavior of individuals toward switching to sustainable energy practices? Second, are there significant differences among participants in their intention and behavior about eco-friend? Future researchers can extend the applicability of the findings through comparable studies that consider cross-national, cross-culture and various of demographic-based segments.
