Abstract

Nowadays, growing attention toward sustainable development is forcing companies to revolutionize the supply chain and business model introducing sustainability issues in their operations. In this article, a comprehensive overview of sustainable supply chain management practices and the value chain is conducted. Sustainable practices have been identified and systematically organized for both primary and support activities of the value chain. This article contributes to the existing literature for both scholars and practitioners. For scholars, this article brings together the different contributions available in the literature and organizes them in an interesting and comprehensive taxonomy. As for practitioners, this taxonomy supports them in suggesting the adoption of appropriate practices to effectively made their operations more sustainable. The originality of this article lays in the systematization and comparison of the different practices and recommendations proposed.
