The Effectiveness of Using Padlet Platform in Developing Some Critical Thinking Skills for Faculty of Education Students

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The current research aimed to reveal the effectiveness of employing the Padlet platform in the development of some critical thinking skills for a sample of Early Childhood Department students in the Faculty of Education at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University in Dammam. One-group semi-experimental approach was used on a sample consisting of (44) students, purposefully selected from the Department of Early Childhood level 8 course in teaching. Watson & Glaser's test of critical thinking skills has also been used in the Saudi environment (codified by Al-Ruqqass, 2012). The research results showed statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the means of scores of the sample in the pre-posttest administration of critical thinking skills in favor of the post-application. The results showed a marked improvement in critical thinking skills due to the use of the Padlet platform and the research recommended that the technical capabilities of the Padlet platform should be utilized and employed in the education and training process.
